For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. Hebrews 8:7, NIV We only emphasize that Christian life we are in is not based on another form of religious ritual but on a covenant. The question is what type of covenant are you in? Is it a covenant of religion or a covenant of love? It should be a covenant of love. Love is a person and that is God (see 1 John 4:16). The covenant we are in is a covenant based on who He is and not on who we are. It's based on what He has done and not on what we have done. When you sign an agreement form, you understand what type of covenant or agreement you are signing in. And this is the reason why still many Christians missed the true essence of Christianity. It's because they don't understand the covenant they are in. In result, many are so called Christians are still living a life like they don't have Christ. There's no real transformation happened. They think Christian...

Its Christmas holidays around the world. Before we can get busy on the things we will do, let us remember what is the true meaning of this season. In this season, according to other religious beliefs, it is December 25 when Jesus was born. It doesn't matter what the religious traditions and beliefs it is, Christmas is about the birth of Christ. It is the right time and opportunity to share and receive the gospel.
According to verse 23, the birth of Christ announces that God is with us. Christmas reminds us that you are not far away with God. The bible declares that "God is with us", "for us" and "in us"(Mat.1:23,Rom.8:32,Gal.2:20). How does it happen? Is it possible that God can be with me even though I am a sinner?
God is a holy God. He is pure holy. No spot of sin. We cannot be with God because we are a sinner. In fact, we deserve God's punishment instead of God's favor. We deserve hell instead of heaven. But the good news is here. In verse 21, it says, that the name of Jesus means Savior.
She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus [the Greek form of the Hebrew Joshua, which means Savior], for He will save His people from their sins [that is, prevent them from failing and missing the true end and scope of life, which is God]. Matthew 1:21 AMPC
God didn't leave us helpless in the midst of our sins. There was Jesus who was born in a manager. Signifies that a God who created heaven and earth became a sin-bearer. He came down to earth that we might go up to heaven. He became sin that we might become the righteousness of God. This is the Good News of Christmas.
Our Only Response
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men [astrologers] from the east came to Jerusalem, asking,
Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east at its rising and have come to worship Him. Matthew 2:1-2
In the following chapter, tells us what will be our only response in this Good News that has come. That is worship. Worship is our only response to the new born King. When we worship, we signifies that truly Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. When we worship, we submit our lives to His lordship. When we worship, we acknowledge His ability to save.
Friends, don't miss the meaning of Christmas. Christmas is a worship season in response to the Good News that Christ was born.
