Dealing In The New Covenant

For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.  Hebrews 8:7, NIV We only emphasize that Christian life we are in is not based on another form of religious ritual but on a covenant. The question is what type of covenant are you in? Is it a covenant of religion or a covenant of love? It should be a covenant of love. Love is a person and that is God (see 1 John 4:16). The covenant we are in is a covenant based on who He is and not on who we are. It's based on what He has done and not on what we have done.  When you sign an agreement form, you understand what type of covenant or agreement you are signing in. And this is the reason why still many Christians missed the true essence of Christianity. It's because they don't understand the covenant they are in. In result, many are so called Christians are still living a life like they don't have Christ. There's no real transformation happened. They think Christian...

Day 27: Self-Righteousness Blocks Grace

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

The only hindrance that blocks us to God's grace is self-righteousness.

When we are self-righteous or hypocrite before God. When we are not bold about our weakness or helplessness before Him. When we love to look the speck on other's eye without looking the plank that is in our own eye. That's when we block ourselves in the undeserved favor of God.

Friends, God's throne is a throne of grace and not a throne of judgement. He loves it when we come to Him boldly, admitting our failures, weaknesses and helplessness before Him.

Its just's like a force of magnetism. When two magnets are brought together, the force will attract the two magnets together if the poles are opposite, that is if the pole of the first magnet is positive and the pole of the second magnet is negative. If that condition is true, the two magnets will be "forced" to stick together. Likewise, if the two magnets of the same polarity are brought together, the force of magnetism will repel the two magnets from each other, and they cannot be made to stick together.

Its the same with God's grace. When we are feeling positive, the force of God's undeserved favor will drive away from us. But if we are in a negative situation admitting it before God, the force of undeserved favor will stick and cover us.

His grace is more than our weaknesses and helplessness. That's why we can come to the throne of grace with our mess, failures or mistakes that we may obtain mercy and find grace in times of need. Those who are proud will only inherit punishment that they made for themselves. But those who are lowly will receive grace.

Thoughts Of The Day:

"God's grace is more than my weakness. I can come boldly to Him"
