Is it a covenant of religion or a covenant of love? It should be a covenant of love. Love is a person and that is God (see 1 John 4:16). The covenant we are in is a covenant based on who He is and not on who we are. It's based on what He has done and not on what we have done. When you sign an agreement form, you understand what type of covenant or agreement you are signing in. And this is the reason why still many Christians missed the true essence of Christianity. Have you gone into a situation that you are stucked? A stuck moment where you can see that you don't have a way out from a negative situation?
We all faced that. Even the servants of God in the bible had faced it. That's why when you come into a situation like that, a question will rise from other people or even from yourself that says, "Was your God whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?" Lions signifies our negative situation.
"To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Colossians 1:27
Friends, the good news is, there is hope of glory in the midst of a stuck situation. That hope is Christ living on the inside you.
If you remember the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego they've been punished because they didn't worship the god of King Nebuchadnezzar. When the king with his strongest men of his army ordered the three to throw them into a burning furnace, its a burning furnace with an intense heat 7 times hotter than usual, his strongest soldiers killed when they throw the three into it. But the king got up only in amazement and said, "Didn't we tie up three men and throw them into a furnace?" "Look!""I see four men, unbound, walking in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like god!"(see Daniel 3:24-25NLT).
The bible says, the king called them out. Not a hair on their heads was singed. Their clothing was not scorched. They didn't even smell of smoke. That's truly amazing!
The lesson here is this. Whatever fiery situation you are stucked today, you will not be burn there but only God will be seen in you. You will come out unharmed and protected. Why? Its because the Lord is in you! Its just a matter of being aware that God is FOR YOU, WITH YOU and IN YOU.
God is no longer mad at you. He keeps no records of wrongs against you. The bible says, "He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross"(Colossians 2:14). It takes the shedding of the blood on the cross to paid that price for you. You are loved, forgiven, made holy, righteous child of the Most High God not because of what you have done but because of what Christ has done at the cross for you. In fact, you are so blessed that the love of God has been poured out into your hearts by the Holy Spirit (see Romans 5:5). You have to see yourself that way and you will come out from the stuck and fiery situation blessed, favored, unharmed and protected.
