Is it a covenant of religion or a covenant of love? It should be a covenant of love. Love is a person and that is God (see 1 John 4:16). The covenant we are in is a covenant based on who He is and not on who we are. It's based on what He has done and not on what we have done. When you sign an agreement form, you understand what type of covenant or agreement you are signing in. And this is the reason why still many Christians missed the true essence of Christianity. that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19, NKJV
We were once far away. We were once disconnected because of sin. But the Good news is God is calling us into a reconciliation, He is pleading with us to reconcile to Him. And it is written, reconciliation is through Jesus Christ. Through His precious sacrifice, God is calling us to become His very own by believing His finished work for us. By knowing we no longer lives but Christ lives inside of us.
Are you in Christ? If you're in Christ you're in harmony with God's will. You're in compatible with God's nature. No evil schemes shall be permitted against in accordance to your identity. Surely His goodness and mercy is following you. You're benefiting the amazing love God has demonstrated on the cross. You became the beloved of the Father, Things are working and changing not in accordance of your goodness but in accordance of your position in Christ.
Friends, reconciliation to God today is by knowing that you no longer lives but Christ lives in you through the complete finished work He has shown on the cross. The more you know it the more you will believe it.
